Starting this week, all CineGround RED cameras will come standard with 2 very special LUT’s (Look-up-tables) installed on each camera. These are subtle colour profiles that change the way your image appears on screen while shooting and monitoring.
We’ve created one look to match that of the ever-popular Arri Alexa Rec 709 look – very useful for those TV-bound commercial productions. We’ve also created our very own take on the Rec 709 look – tuned to work perfectly with the RED’s existing colour science.
What’s important to remember is that with RED you’re always shooting RAW so you don’t have to worry about ‘burning in’ these looks onto your footage. On the other hand, if you like the look and want to use it as the base-light for your offline rushes, its easy to import the LUT’s into RedCine-X to be applied to your transcodes.
